Indian Institute of Art & Design

The Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) in collaboration with Kingston University, London, offers a creative, studio based education through its three rigorous Bachelor degree programmes in Fashion Design, Interior Architecture & Design, and Communication Design.

Located in New Delhi, the Institute will draw naturally upon its access to the capital's diverse tradition of crafts and textiles, as much as to its rich history in architectural design. Even so, the endeavour at IIAD will be to produce professionals with a unique aesthetic sensibility and a thorough grounding in modern technologies to suit the dynamism and competitive standards of the global design industry.

The IIAD has its collaboration with Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Kingston University. Pioneers in art and design education, Kingston University has helped evolve the Institute's comprehensive course curriculum and will share its considerable experience, expertise and resources on all teaching methodology . It offers a creative, studio-based education through its three Bachelor degree programs.

Eligibility

Candidates must have appeared/passed the CBSE/ISC/IB (or any other equivalent board) 10+2 examination in any discipline. Candidates who have recently appeared for the examination and are awaiting their results may also apply.  

Examination Pattern

  • IDAT (IIAD Design Aptitude Test) is a two hours test, mandatory for all applicants. This test allows the Admission Committee to examine and judge aptitude for drawing, design ability, power of observation / representation, creativity, imagination, lateral thinking and writing skills.
  • Portfolio Evaluation: Personally developed portfolio is mandatory and this would be evaluated during Personal Interview. The body of work can include drawings, paintings, collages, needle-work, three dimensional work, digital design, web design, sculpture etc
  • Personal Interview: Personal interview will focus upon applicants’ maturity, confidence, awareness, intellectual ability and communication skills. The Interview will be conducted after the candidate completes the IDAT
