| This course is of one year duration and is common to all the students. As its name implies, this course provides basic instructions to lay the foundation for the specialisation. |

There will be entrance examination in the month of June. The entrance examination will be on two subject [a] General Knowledge related to Art & Culture of India [b] Creative Test. The Final selection will be on basis of merit. |
| MINIMUM QUALIFICATION |
| a] Senior School Certificate Examination [12 year course] of the C.B.S.E., New Delhi or equivalent examination with 50% or more marks in the aggregate for applications of General Category.
b] 45% marks for applicants of SC/ST category and general category students with Painting, Sculpture or Applied Art as one of the subjects in the qualifying examination Widows and/or Children of Armed Personnel.
c] The applicant should not be less than 17 years of age as on 1st October of the year.
Application Form and Prospectus for admission to the aforesaid courses in the College of Art, New Delhi, will be available for sale in the College office from 1st week June to 30th June, on all working days [including Saturdays] between 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on cash payment of Rs.500/- for General Category and Rs,250/- for SC/ST category candidates or Crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favor of the Principal College of Art, New Delhi payable at New Delhi, or through Post along with a self-addressed envelope of 10" x 12" duly affixed with Rs.50/- Postage stamp. Details regarding Qualification, Seats, Aptitude Test, Fees and Courses are given in the Prospectus. Application Forms duly completed should reach the Principal, College of Art, New Delhi, by hand on or before 30th June, and by Registered/Speed Post before Tuesday 03rd July, Applications received thereafter will not be considered. |

Applications are accepted by the Polytechnic only after May 2nd. |

Selection for some courses is on the basis of a test and /or interview scheduled to be held in June. Details can be had from the Administration office. Outstation Students [India only] will be informed of the date of interview by post. |
